Well, the Olympic closing ceremony is over, and the last Polar Bear swim has happened, and everyone is feeling a little bittersweet about Discoverers week ending.
Yesterday was of course another full day with tons of classic activities as well as Capture the Flag, Kickball, and Anklebiters. Our “Olympics” was a bunch of Minute-To-Win-It games like sliding an Oreo from your forehead into your mouth, stacking cups, and shooting bottles down with rubber bands. Our winners got to go first for the following meal and got extra candy!
Yesterday, the rain finally stopped, and we had the opportunity for some water games including a new sport called real-life battleship, in which two teams sat on either side of a tarp and threw water balloons over the top at each other. And of course we broke out the ol’ slip n’ slide. Finally, last night we had our delicious tin foil dinners with cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and more all cooked over a fire. Afterwards, we had a counselor hunt but with a twist! Some counselors were running around attacking campers with flour! The stakes were high!
We’re looking forward to seeing you today, parents! We are excited to share with you about what we’ve learned about peace and all the places we have seen it this week while at camp. Laurelville is the epitome of peace and is an excellent place to learn about “Peace Rocks!”
Drive safe and we’ll see you in a few hours!
