Food Service Coordinator
Laurelville is seeking a Food Service Coordinator to join our team this July 2020! We serve over 48,000 meals each year. Applicant must be a people-person committed to creating a warm and inviting dining hall environment that embodies Christ-like service, guest interaction and of course, excellent food. Job responsibilities include: cooking and meal prep, speedy meal prep & timely meal delivery, quality & waste control, creative problem solving, addressing issues with flexibility, grace & humor! Evenings & weekends required. This key role reports to our Food Service Director.
Qualified candidates possess:
- A passion for Christian service
- 1-year minimum experience in food service
- interest to grow in leadership responsibilities
- Team-player mentality
- Current Food Safe certification
Hours vary from 40 in summer/busy season weeks to few hours in winter months. Hourly wage $9-11/hour (negotiable commensurate with experience). Benefits include: on-site housing (if desired, not required), vacation and sick pay; meals while on duty, free swimming/facility use for immediate family.

Part-time Cooks and Dishwashers
Looking for fun place to work while providing Christ-like hospitality? Laurelville is in need of part-time cooks and dishwashers. Must be available evenings and weekends, ideally for a minimum of 15 hours per week (in busy season). Cook pay is $8.00-$8.50/hr. and dishwashers are $7.25-7.50, both commensurate with experience. Training will be provided.
Ropes Course Facilitator
Laurelville is hiring several ropes course facilitators. Ropes Course Facilitators will be trained on leading a group through our low ropes course. Facilitators will need to feel comfortable leading groups of all ages through the different elements. As groups request time at our low ropes course, a Laurelville staff member will check the availability of the facilitators and assign those available to the group. Laurelville is hiring lifeguards for our 2020 pool season. Lifeguards must present proof of their American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross has extended certifications for 120 days this year). Lifeguards are expected to be attentive and alert at all times to the activities in the pool. Guards must be able to handle the safety of our guests firmly but with care and consideration for their retreat experience at Laurelville. Lifeguards are also responsible for cleaning the pool prior to opening and cleanup at the end of the day.
This year we plan to be open daily in two sessions from 12-3 and 4-7 from mid-June to Labor Day, and some weekends in September. Guests must register in advance due to limited numbers. Soft opening expected by June 15. Safety measures in place to protect guests’ wellness. *Dates may change due to COVID-19 regulations.
